Structural IW / Rigger
This crew is responsible for the off-loading and location of all structural materials at the site of work. Erects or assembles hoisting equipment (cranes) for raising and placing structural-steel (including composite materials) members. Attaches hoists and/or pulling gear for rigging to lift, move, and position machinery, equipment, including structural parts. Fastens steel members to cable of hoist, using chain, cable, or rope. Forms slings and towing bridles by looping and splicing cable. Controls movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or in confined spaces. Signals operator of hoisting equipment, via hand signals, or telephonic communications, to lift and place steel member or equipment. Guides member, using tab line (rope). Personal hand tools include: Spud wrenches, sleever bars, tape measures, etc.
